what matters most in this life isn't WHY

in the beginning of the new year or before that, people reflect, don't we? i reflect - about experiences, events, thoughts, about people. i reflect in variety of moods and i do that in a place where i can feel my heart is full of grace. i don't have to go so far. a quiet nook will do, in my bedroom. there, my soul can comfortably breathe.

2010 is only a few hours away and i find it's just fitting to resurrect one beautiful song which i have sung many times in the church and other events i attended in the past. i am going to reflect on this once again to know how i am going to incorporate its meaning into my existence. this song stands out in my life because the soothing lyrics speaks right directly to me. i admire people who are strong in faith and are always ready to give gratitude even in times of pain and suffering and without any need to ask "why?" i asked many why's in the past and i consumed a deal of time coping and finding answers instead of just understanding and accepting.

come to think of it, when happiness comes to our lives do we ever ask why?

here's the song.....

WHAT MATTERS MOST IN LIFE
Kuh Ledesma

In your mind you keep asking why
You know you ask too many questions
We're only in borrowed time
And for me you don't have to know all the reasons

What matters most in this life isn't why
But simple things like when one holds your hand
When you're assured that there's someone who cares
Who makes you feel special in so many ways

Why do we keep wanting for more in life
And we keep looking but we don't know what to find
We have so much but are never content
We can't explain the emptiness we have inside

Lonely and lost are what we feel sometimes
Feeling incomplete we just can't understand
Why we want to have some things not meant for us
Why we want to love what never can be ours

What matters most in this life isn't why
Just live your life give the best that you can
Somewhere along the way we will find in time
We can feel complete without asking why
